What to put on a car workshop website: 6 blocks
A driver chooses a car workshop before the trip, not during it. They look at what you repair, what the three most common jobs cost and whether there is a free slot. The page where this takes a minute to find gets the booking for a diagnosis.
1. What you repair
List the areas in a driver's words: engine, suspension, brakes, electrics, bodywork, tyre fitting. Add the makes you work with. The driver checks whether you will take their car and closes the tab if they do not find the answer.
2. Prices for the three most common jobs
Most visits are a diagnosis, an oil change or brake pads. Put a price on these three jobs, and there will be fewer calls asking "how much does it cost".
Write them as lines: "Suspension diagnostics, from 600 UAH", "Oil and filter change, from 450 UAH plus the oil". If the price depends on the make, write that next to it.
3. A quote before the work
A driver is afraid of a bill that grew after the repair. Write that you name the sum before the work starts. Add that it changes only with their agreement.
4. A warranty in numbers
State the period in months or kilometres: "6 months or 10,000 km on the work, on parts under the manufacturer's terms". A number can be checked, the word "warranty" on its own cannot. In a separate sentence write what to do if the fault comes back.
5. Hours, address, the way in
Opening hours by day, the address, a map and one line on how to drive in and where to leave the car. Google reads the hours as the hours of a local business, so set them in the site settings and not only in the text.
6. Booking a diagnosis
The form asks for the make, the model, the year and a description of the symptom. The mechanic then prepares for the car in advance, and the client does not explain everything twice on the phone. Every booking arrives in your panel and in Telegram, even if it was sent at two in the morning.
What builds trust
- Before and after photos of a body repair: two shots of the same car side by side, with a slider to compare them.
- Reviews with the make of the car and the name of the job.
- Photos of the workshop, the lifts and the mechanics.
- Your business details.
How drivers find a workshop in Google
A driver searches specifically: "tyre fitting Sykhiv", "wheel alignment Obolon", "body repair Darnytsia". Name the city, the district and the kinds of work right in the text of the page.
Tyre fitting and body repair are worth describing on pages of their own, each with its own prices. Such a page is found for its own query, while a general "Car workshop" page gets lost among a hundred similar ones.
A Google Maps profile with reviews and a link to the site is a must. How to create one is described step by step.
Mistakes that send a driver elsewhere
- A single price "from 300 UAH" for the whole list of jobs.
- A warranty "on everything" with no period.
- Hours that do not match Google Maps.
- A phone number as the only way to book.
Frequently asked questions
Should I write prices if the exact sum is known only after diagnostics?
Yes. A "from" price for a typical job shows the order of the sum. Next to it, write that you name the exact sum before the repair starts.
Do I need a site if clients come on a friend's advice?
You do. A person who was recommended to you usually checks you in Google. A site with prices and a warranty confirms the advice.
Does such a page suit a tyre fitter or a body shop?
It does. Change the list of jobs and prices, and the other blocks stay the same.
Where to start
The minimum to start with: the list of jobs, three prices, a warranty and booking. The FastSite template for a car workshop already has these blocks. For a workshop that repairs household appliances there is a separate guide. What to prepare in advance is in a short checklist, and what a website costs is covered separately.
